Kayanoya came from Kubara Honke, a seasoning company. It was established in year 26 of the Meiji Era (1893 A.D.). A small soy sauce brewery opened in the village of Kubara (now the town of Hisayama). Some 120 years later, it still produces seasonings in Fukuoka.
